Affiliate programs.

These are the programs that give you the most opportunity for the average person with nothing more than their computer and an internet connection. You can get into an affiliate program with no business experience at all. You don't have to know programming. You don't have to have your own website.

Most importantly, you don't have to invest money to do them.

You may have misconceptions about what these programs are. Some people think of these programs as pyramid schemes but that's not true. I'm not saying that there are not programs out there that ARE pyramid schemes because there definitely are. I'm saying that just because it's an affiliate program doesn't mean it's bad. It just means that when you join, you can sell the products or services of the company and you can probably recruit others onto your team and you will make money when they sell as well.

A company that sells in this way has the advantage of having a large sales force but they don't have to support "employees" because the affiliates are independent representatives in business for themselves. The company doesn't have to pay them wages or benefits. They only pay a commission on sales.

There is also some confusion about the term "affiliate program" and "MLM" or "Multi Level Marketing." You can be an affiliate of a program that is or is not MLM and it's MLM that scares a few people and right away they think of someone that tried to "ambush" them into a program and force them into being a salesperson when they didn't want to be one.

Don't worry, you won't have to alienate your friends, neighbors and coworkers to take part in an online business. As a matter of fact, you can run your online business without telling anyone so you don't have to worry about anyone's opinion of what you are doing until you are already successful. Read on.

There are a lot of companies that use this arrangement (MLM) that you may not realize. Most people know about Amway, Mary Kay, Tupperware, etc. but not all people know that the insurance and financial industries use this concept in some form. Real Estate also uses it.

Real Estate is actually a good example of the structure of most affiliate programs you will see on the net. A Real Estate broker can sell properties and recruit agents to work in their office to sell properties also. When the agent sells a property, the agent makes a commission and the broker gets part of it too. When the broker sells a property, he gets the entire commission on his own sale.

Affiliate programs on the net work much the same way with a slight difference in how the commission are paid. When you join, you will usually have been recruited by someone and you will be their "agent" so to speak and when you sell you get a commission. The person who recruited you will get a commission as well, but unlike Real Estate, it won't come out of your commission, it comes directly from the company. You always get your whole commission for the sale so you are like the "broker" in that respect. And like the broker you can recruit others to be on your team and when they sell you get a commission directly from the company for their sale.

The commission for your own sale will be more than the commission paid for your recruits, but there is usually no limit on how many people you can recruit onto your team so if you build a large team, you can make a lot of commissions. In this respect, you have the ability to build a very large income. Unlimited in fact and the best thing about it is that it's residual income. The larger you build your team, the more money that comes in automatically every month.

I am going to show you the program that I think is the best one on the internet but you may want to join a different one so when you look for one, keep certain things in mind.

First, don't be tempted to join more than one or two programs, at least when you first start out. If you pick the right one, you shouldn't need more than that anyway. If you get into too many, you will spread yourself too thin and won't be able to devote enough time to any one of them to be successful with it.

My advice is, look at them and check all of them out that look interesting but don't join until you check each one out THOROUGHLY. Then pick one that you want to use as your main program. Join it and then devote all of your time to that one program. Once you know what is involved and if you become successful with that program, then maybe think about joining others.

What you MUST consider when you look at these programs is the long term viability. By that I mean the ability of the program to provide you a dependable income for years. You will see a lot of programs that tell you, "Join, do nothing, make millions" or something to that effect. If they don't come out and say it, they will lead you to believe it. Don't believe it. You can join and do nothing, but you will make nothing. You get out of it what you put into it. This is true with online business as well as any brick and mortar business. Think about it. Any program that tells you that you can get rich by doing nothing is not a program to be involved with. That old saying still holds true, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is."

You will also see some investment programs. "Double your money in 90 days or less" or something to that effect. What's that old saying? The best way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. Programs of this type where you pay into it and then get double your money back in a short period of time depend on new members joining to pay the existing members and they never sustain themselves for more that a few months at best. You may make a little with it but sooner or later it will fold and be gone and so will any money you put in.

Take a look at any program and ask yourself if what they are proposing sounds right to you. Some of them are even illegal in some countries. They are the true definition of "pyramid scheme" and they are illegal in the U.S. and elsewhere. Check into the laws of your country before you join it and especially before you advertise it. Take a look at what the program is offering. Are they selling a product or service? If they're not, then they are not something you want to get involved with. For more information on pyramid schemes and what to look out for when you are looking at affiliate programs go to www.dsa.org

Some programs will charge a fee to join or they will let you join for free but if you want to actually sell their products and make money, you have to pay the fee. Some programs will charge you a monthly fee to be in the program. If you don't get anything in return for this fee other than the opportunity to be in the program, be wary. You should not have to pay anyone for the privilege of selling THEIR products. If they are a legitimate program with a viable product, they will make their profit solely from the sale of that product and they won't need to charge their members a fee. They will be happy just to have members to sell for them.

Don't confuse this with programs that encourage you to buy products from them on a regular basis. If you are getting a tangible product, it's fine. Actually, most companies will encourage their members and associates to buy and use their products. I personally wouldn't feel right about selling something I don't use myself. Think about it, would you want to buy a Corvette from a salesperson that drives a Porsche? What does that say about his credibility? How can he say the 'Vette is a good car when he doesn't drive one himself? If you are selling a product, you should believe in it enough to use it yourself.

Some programs will pay you for recruiting. That is, they will pay you a fee or "bounty" for every person you get to join. Usually if they do this, they charge you a fee to join and out of this fee is how they pay your referrer. This is a warning signal. Look at the program carefully as their income is derived at least somewhat by getting people to join and if people aren't joining, the program becomes in jeopardy of failing. Some derive part of their income in this manner and also sell products and services so they are only partly dependent on the fees to stay in business.

If the program charges a fee to join and pays you to recruit others and doesn't really sell a product or service other than the program itself, stay away from it. It's a pyramid scheme. A legitimate business HAS to derive at least part of it's income from sales and not just from join fees or monthly fees. The income from sales must be from a legitimate product or service also and not just "selling" the membership in the program.

When you look at the product or service being offered, take a look at it from the standpoint of being a customer. Would you buy and use what they are selling? If you would and you think others would, then it's probably a legitimate company that you can consider. You may even want to try the products first before you become an affiliate. I know I said this earlier, but if you don't like the product, you won't be successful in selling it to others.

Also take a look at how long the company has been in business. Did they just start or have they been around for years? If they just started, it doesn't mean that they are not a good company with a good product. It just means that they don't have a history yet. New companies aren't bad, they just don't yet have the stability and continuity of an established company. It could be a very good opportunity to get in on the ground floor and grow with them. It could also mean that they might not make it and you will be out of business when they go under. They are simply more risk than an established company.

A company that has been around for a few years has proven that they know what they are doing and they are selling a product or service that is in demand. They have also proven that the management is solid and the company is functioning well. In other words they have worked out any kinks and the "machine" is running properly.

The main program I am in has all the qualities of a good affiliate program. It is established. It has a proven track record of success and they offer products and services that are in demand. They also have a good solid commission schedule so you can build a sustainable monthly income with it.

You can join this program for FREE. There is no fee to be in the program and you don't get paid to get others to join. Their profit is solely from sales. That means you risk nothing and as soon as you are a member, you gain access to all the training and instructional materials on the site. It is worth joining this program for that alone. You actually have all the educational materials you need to build a successful work at home business online. Click on the link and check out the page even if you don't want to join right now. I want you to see what a good affiliate program offers.
